Dear Parent's. Attendance is Paramount! Student's are to always come to class Prepared! Homework is assigned everyday, (in at least two subjects) except Friday and weekends. Students can always practice their multiplication facts if they finish their homework quickly. Also, students should read every evening for 30 minutes of silent reading. Please monitor homework and provide a quiet place for homework to be completed. Notices will be sent home in advance regarding field trips; which you are welcome to accompany us as chaperones. We are moving forward to having a successful and exciting school year! Message from: Mrs. Rucker
Hello Parents: The new 2008-09 school year is a challenging one for the new Excel Institute fourth graders. To me, all of my students are very special and have the potential to learn and become successful in their educational and, by extention, in their lives. They will have homework Monday through Thursday of each week. There are practices that can help them and they need to work on these at home. They need to know the multiplication facts from 1 to 12 in rapid succession and they need to read for thirty minutes each night. Messsage from: Mrs. Sandra Huneke
Parents have your children explain concepts of settings, plots, complications, and theme's. Study language arts everynight. Message from Mr. Bass
Parents have your children read something everyday, also practice addition, subtraction, and multiplication facts. Message from Ms. Taylor
Parents make sure your child reads something everyday. Message from Ms. Grissom
Homework packets have arrived....from now until the last week of the school year. This is a very important part of your child's learning, so please take it seriously. Listed are some of the things you should know that will help you with the homework process: 1. Packets are given to your child on Monday and they are to be turned in on Friday: ( Please keep the packet stapled together.) 2. Do all assignments that require writing with pencil only. For coloring assignments, please have crayons available at home. 3. Have a standard routine and time to do their work each evening. 4. WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!! When writing numbers and letters say them to help develop memory skills. 5. When coloring help develop your child's awareness of coloring inside the lines, stress neatness. If there are any questions, please ask. Thank You, Mrs. Kelly Ms. Marsh K-4 instructors
The basic goal of Excel Institute is to provide a quality education to all students, K-4 through 8th grade. Each student will be exposed to an educational curriculum that will permit them an opportunity to " Excel " to their maximum learning potential. To stress the importance of personal involvement in the lives of our students. To know their weaknesses, strengths, needs and structure individual programs to meet them. To never lose sight of our commitment and purpose. The learning process must accomplish the school's goals and program objectives. These goals and objectives can only be attained by dedicated teachers and staff who believe in the worth of every student. We endeavor to give each student the encouragement, means, freedom and the guidance to achieve at the highest possible level.
Continually striving toward excellence, Excel Institute promotes the "I CAN - I WILL" attitude. Our teachers and staff work diligently toward building self-esteem while emphasizing that a poor self-image limits one's possibilities. Because we must prepare our youth for the future, Excel's goal for each student is "Success Through Knowledge".
Master Basic Skills for continued learning Develop a sense of responsibility and respect for others; Knowledge and respect for God; Develop each student's unique talent and sense of worth; Help student's develop survival skills to cope with change and rejection; Provision of education ( free from violence ); Help student's prepare for the demands of the global economy; Develop skills and attitudes needed to earn a living and contribute to society. Be accountable for their own actions; Develop good study habits; "Strive for Excellence" in all phases of academics and development.
TUITION MUST BE PAID IN ADVANCE via selected payment plan; REGISTRATION FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE; All enrollment contracts are for ( 10 ) month period; we do not deduct for holidays and intermission; Every student must meet State Health and Immunization requirements ( Statute 1973 25-4-902 ) or be denied admission to school; EVERY STUDENT MUST WEAR THE DESIGNATED SCHOOL UNIFORM; Annual Book Fee for K-5 through 8th grade must be paid in advance; Before and After Daycare is provided ( 6:30 - 6:00pm ) for an additional fee. GOALS: Our goal is to emphasize the positive and repudiate the negative expectations of society, while replacing them with hope, determination and confidence. Since some young people make bad choices that lead to dead-end streets. Excel's goal is to provide a roadmap leading to the " on ramp " interstates of life.
